Chocolate Chip Biscuits

Healthy Kids Snack

 No child could resist these choc chip biscuits.  They are brimming with deliciousness with the combination of almonds and chocolate.

Ingredients

1½ cups buckwheat flour

125gm butter, softened

½ cup maple syrup or honey

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 free-range egg

½ cup chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 160oC (320oF). Line a baking tray with baking paper
  2. In a large bowl, add the flour, baking powder and vanilla and stir until combined and set aside.
  3. Add the butter, and maple syrup to a bowl, using an electric mixer mix together until light and creamy. Then add the egg and mix to combine.
  4. Add the butter mixture and chocolate chips to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  5. Using a tablespoon as a measure, form into 12 ball and press down lightly. Place onto the baking tray and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
