Classic French Toast

French toast is easy to make and high in immune boosting protein and gut restoring fibre. This is a great recipe for kids who don't enjoy eating eggs on their own.
Ingredients
- 1 slice of wholemeal bread
- 1 free-range egg, lightly whisked
- â…“ cup milk of choice
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon butter
Method
- Whisk the egg, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Dip the bread into the mixture and cover both sides thoroughly with the mixture. Leave for 5 minutes to absorb all the egg.
- Heat the butter in a frying pan over medium heat and add the eggy bread and cook for a 2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Transfer to a plate and serve with fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey.
