Classic French Toast

The Perfect Breakfast - Kids Will Love!

French toast is easy to make and high in immune boosting protein and gut restoring fibre. This is a great recipe for kids who don't enjoy eating eggs on their own.

Ingredients

  • 1 slice of wholemeal bread
  • 1 free-range egg, lightly whisked
  • â…“ cup milk of choice
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon butter

Method

  • Whisk the egg, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Dip the bread into the mixture and cover both sides thoroughly with the mixture. Leave for 5 minutes to absorb all the egg.
  • Heat the butter in a frying pan over medium heat and add the eggy bread and cook for a 2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Transfer to a plate and serve with fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey.
